Sam Haskins in Bologna

Invited by the Mayor of Bologna, Sam Haskins was asked to create a photographic essay on the city of Bologna, choosing his own theme.
Sam's photographs were presented in a solo exhibition and simultaneously became a book [catalogue] that was displayed there.

The historically and generationally overlapping layers, a characteristic of the city of Bologna, suited Sam's montage-like thinking, and the resulting photographs have a powerful imagery, while at the same time being a serene and warm tribute to the magnificent architecture and sculptures, the decaying beauty, and the religious ambiguity that are characteristic of Italian towns.

◆This item is from my collection, purchased at a used bookstore in Rome about 20 years ago.
There is a handwritten signature of Sam Haskins [died in 2009] on the spread.
"Sam Haskins '84" is written twice in blue pen.
It seems the ink didn't flow well the first time, so the second line was rewritten with a different pen, making it a very rare item.
Unfortunately, there are faint marks from an added vinyl cover around the signature (from the time of purchase).
Please examine the images and bid only if you understand the rarity and are tolerant of this.

This catalogue was published over 40 years ago, but the colors of the works have not faded, and the text is generally clean and in good condition overall.
This is a very impressive and rare collection of works.
