These are rank insignia for the Japanese Army's standing-collar military uniform.
My family purchased this item at an online auction.
It is said to be a Japanese Army sergeant's shoulder board, but I don't know the details, so please judge from the images.
The front side is in relatively good condition for an item from that time, but one of the metal fittings (？) on the back is missing.
