vintage Chinese carved wooden figurine depicting a boy riding a water buffalo.

These carvings are typically from China and often date back to the early 20th century, with some examples from the Qing Dynasty or Republic period.
I can probably get a lot more for this item but my hope is someone will see the value that I placed ( which by all accounts is about half of what I am finding them on line)
It is carved from wood, often reddish-brown varieties like padauk or rosewood, and the buffalo often features inlaid glass eyes.
Symbolism:
In Chinese culture, the imagery of a child or boy riding a water buffalo is a powerful symbol of harmony, prosperity, and familial unity, often evoking a sense of peaceful rural life.
Details:
These sculptures are known for their detailed carving, including elements like the buffalo's features and the boy's attire.
