Original Chinese antique handcrafted and hand painted wooden abacus box. It has a gold and black painted phoenix and dragon symbol which stands for yin and yan the phoenix being female and the dragon male symbolizing a prosperous and abundant long marriage full of luck and love. The box has original leather hinge completely in tact not torn anywhere and has all original brass hardware on front and back including very nice latch on front. It is a cherry wood with laquer finish and has real gold in the gold paint not sure on the karat of gold but if I find the appraisal paperwork I'll update this post. I had it appraised a couple years ago, then moved and of course can't find the paperwork but I'm wanting to say they appraised it for around $1200.00. I'm not 100% sure hopefully I can find this paperwork one day. I am asking only $150.00 without paperwork since I can't find it but if I do soon then I will change the price to around 850.00 to be sold with paperwork. Approx 8x4x2 inches Thx
